La Silla Astronomical Observatory is an investigation center located 2400 meters above sea level.
It´s part of the European Southern Observatory (ESO) since 1969. The place has high technology equipments.

How to get there?
To the observatory: Land route, by Panamericana Highway north (kilometer 598). Then turn east.
When to go?
January, February, March, April, May, June, September, October, November, December.
Semiarid. Arid in the north and mild in the south. The shore temperatures are homogeneuos, meanwhile in the interior the temperature oscillates between day and night time. Rain during winter season.
