Itinerary

Day 01: Santiago Airport - City tour Santiago de Chile - Santiago

Reception at Santiago de Chile Airport, transfer to your hotel. 
In the afternoon half day tour. The tour will allow you to know the origin of the city and emblematic places such as the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, the Post Office and the Municipality of Santiago. You will also visit La Moneda Palace, seat of government, and the most traditional neighborhoods of the historic center. The excursion also includes a visit to Santa Lucía Hill, called Huelén by the native peoples, a true urban oasis in the middle of the city center. There you will learn more about the history of Chile and enjoy privileged views of the capital.

Main tourist attractions to visit: Palacio de la Moneda, Barrio Republica, Blanco Encalada, Cumming, Palacio Cousiño, La Plaza de Armas, La Catedral, Mercado Central, Estación Mapocho, Bario Bellavista, Cerro Santa Lucia.

Day 02: Santiago - Valparaíso and Viña del Mar - Santiago

Breakfast at Hotel.

07:00 am. Departure from Santiago to Viña del Mar and the Port of Valparaiso. First we will visit Viña del Mar, known as the "Garden City" that will captivate us with its architecture, streets, palaces and the Quinta Vergara, the beautiful and ancient amphitheater where the Viña del Mar Festival is held in February.
In the afternoon, we will tour the coastline, the famous Flower Clock to reach the picturesque Port of Valparaiso, a city whose origins date back to 1536, which was declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO and seat of the Legislative Power. A magical city, with picturesque elevators, colorful neighborhoods and unique and unforgettable landscapes. Finally, we will visit the Plaza Sotomayor and the port.
Return to Santiago. Overnight in Santiago.

Day 03: Santiago - Santiago Airport - Calama Airport - Valle de la Luna - San Pedro de Atacama

Reception and transfer to San Pedro de Atacama from Calama airport. In the afternoon, departure from the hotel to the Moon Valley (15:30 in summer and 14:30 in winter, previous confirmation). If you come to San Pedro de Atacama you can not miss this unique place in the world, the Valley of the Moon, in the middle of the deep aridity of the Cordillera de la Sal we find a landscape of salt and clay molded by water and wind over millions of years, in our walk we will visit the Tres Marias, the Canyon, the Duna Mayor and the Amphitheater by the extravagant forms that gives us the mountain range inciting the imagination and reflection for its tranquility. In the late afternoon, we will go to the Kari viewpoint (Piedra del Coyote) to enjoy one of the best views of the Valley of the Moon, to finally finish watching the sunset that, through its colors, gives us a wonderful end to our excursion.

Day 04: San Pedro de Atacama - Piedras Rojas, Lagunas Altiplanicas, Toconao - Astronomy Tour

Tour start time: 08:30 hrs. In this excursion we will visit Piedras Rojas located in the Salar de Tara with its fascinating and beautiful landscape of reddish color, which stands out for its amazing geological formation, product of the oxidation of iron. Then we head towards the Altiplano to visit the Miscanti and Miñiques lagoons at more than 4,200 meters above sea level, surrounded by large and imposing volcanoes, originated by the elevation of the Andes Mountains and around which you can observe a variety of birds and animals in their natural habitat. We continue the tour to Laguna Chaxa, a scenery of spectacular beauty that is divided into several water mirrors, where a large number of flamingos and other birds such as large and small parinas live. Finally, before returning, while the landscape gives us breathtaking views of the Licancabur and Láscar volcanoes, we will visit Toconao of typical colonial architecture, its bell tower and San Lucas Church, the first National Monument. Return to the hotel.

At 22:00 approx. we will go to the outskirts of San Pedro where we will observe the deep sky with high-end telescopes, computerized and manual. We will observe: planets, open and closed clusters, galaxies and stars.

At 07:30 we will leave on our way to the Rainbow Valley where we will appreciate the clay of the place and the hills flooded with different colors and minerals together with incredible rock formations in this singular and incredible place. We will visit the amazing Rainbow Valley and the Salado River. Return to San Pedro at 12:30 hrs.

Day 06: San Pedro de Atacama - Salt Flats Routes

We will leave the hotel at 08:00 am to visit the salt flats located in the border region between Chile, Argentina and Bolivia. We will travel over the famous and extensive Caldera de la Pakana, being able to be amazed with beautiful viewpoints, wetlands and salt flats. Wonders of the world where the mixture of colors forms a multicolored landscape over 4,000 meters of altitude.

Return to the hotel at 14:00 hrs.

Day 07: San Pedro de Atacama - Geysers del Tatio - Calama Airport - Santiago

Transfer San Pedro de Atacama - Calama Airport

Departure during the early morning from hotel in San Pedro de Atacama (05:30 hrs. Pick up at 05:00, subject to confirmation) We will head towards the Geysers del Tatio. Our trip to the altiplano begins during the early morning to finally reach one of the most important geothermal fields in the world, the Tatio Geysers, surrounded by water and steam emanations we will enjoy the beauty of the Andes and with this natural scenery we will offer you a replenishing breakfast. Then we will visit the Pozon Rustico where you can enjoy the hot springs that the mountain range gives us. Taking the road back to San Pedro de Atacama you will enjoy the beauty of the landscape, native flora and fauna and finally from a viewpoint we will observe the village of Machuca, a place of ancestral llama shepherds. We will observe flora and fauna of the Putana River as vicuñas, llamas, rheas, vizcachas, flamingos, ducks and seagulls.

Transfer to the airport. Arrival in Santiago. Transfer to the hotel in Santiago. Lodging.

Day 08: Mataveri Airport - Ahu Akivi (The 7 Explorers)

Arrival at Easter Island Airport. Reception at the airport with welcome with flower necklace and transfer to the hotel of your choice.

Our tour starts around 15:00 hrs. from Hanga Roa to Ahu Akivi, the first scientifically restored Ahu on the island in 1960. This Ahu with 7 Moai is one of the few in the center of the island, with its statues facing the rising sun. According to the story, they represent the 7 explorers sent before the arrival of Hotu Matua to reconnoiter the island.

Then we will visit the Puna Pau quarry, in a small crater of red slag. Here the Pukao or headdresses that crowned the Moai were obtained. There are still some unfinished and abandoned. And we finish in the Ahu Huri to Urenga, whose four-armed moai is also called the astronomer because it is aligned with the southern winter solstice (June 21).

Return to Hanga Roa.

Overnight in Easter Island.

Day 09: Easter Island - The Hotu Matua Route: Ahu Akahanga - Tongariki - Rano Raraku Volcano - Anakena Beach

Departing from the town of Hanga Roa around 9:00 hrs. we will head towards Ahu Akahanga, also called the king's platform. Legend has it that the tomb of Hotu Matua'a would be near this place. Here we will find 4 platforms, 12 Moai, 8 Pukao and towards the interior of this Ahu you can appreciate one of the best preserved villages of the island.

Then we will continue the journey to Ahu Tongariki, which with its 15 Moai is the largest Ahu on the island. Following the route we will find Ahu Te Pito Kura, which has the tallest statue of the island erected on an Ahu, the Moai Paro (10 meters high and 85 tons with a Pukao of 11.5 tons) and next to this ceremonial temple is a large spherical stone that is identified as the Navel of the World (Te Pito or Te Henua), which according to legend, was brought to the island by Hotu Matua'a in his boat. Continuing our journey we arrive at Ahu Nau Nau, a temple of complex construction due to its different levels where we will find 5 Moai with Pukao where we can see petroglyphs on the backs of the statues. We continue our excursion until we reach the volcano and quarry Rano Raraku, where most of the Moai of the island were carved using the volcanic rock of its inner and outer slopes. Nearly 400 Moai can be seen in various stages of carving.
To end our adventure, we head to the wonderful Anakena Beach, a white coral sand beach chosen for the arrival of the Ariki Hotu Matua'a and her sister Avareipua. Anakena corresponds to the name of a small cave in an adjacent creek. Return to Hanga Roa village, total duration 8 hours.

Day 10: Easter Island - Orongo Ceremonial Village

We start our tour around 09:00 hrs. from Hanga Roa towards the natural cave of Ana Kai Tangata where it is possible to see some cave paintings depicting birds such as the "manutara" and where it is possible to see the waves crashing on the cliffs. We will continue our tour visiting the Rano Kau volcano from where we can see the largest crater on the island and one of the largest reserves of fresh water in the place. Finally, we will visit the Ceremonial Village of Orongo, an ancient and magnificent ceremonial city located on the western summit of the Rano Kau volcano, composed of 53 elliptical houses with slab walls and a small square entrance facing the sea. In this place the most important ceremony of the second period of the island, the election of the Tangata Manu (bird man) which was stopped approximately 150 years ago, product of the arrival of the first Christian missionaries.
At about 13:00 hours we return to the village.

Day 11: Easter Island - Mataveri Airport - Santiago Airport - Santiago

At the agreed time, transfer to Mataveri Airport with island souvenir. Reception at Santiago Airport. Transfer to the hotel in Santiago. Lodging.

Day 12: Santiago - Santiago Airport - Punta Arenas Airport - Puerto Natales

Departure from the hotel in Santiago to the airport. Reception at Punta Arenas airport (we recommend taking the first flight to Punta Arenas to arrive before 12:00 hrs.) Transfer to the bus terminal to board the bus to Puerto Natales. Travel time 03:15 hrs. Arrival to the city, transfer to the hotel, accommodation and lodging.

Day 13: Puerto Natales - Torres del Paine National Park

Breakfast.

At approximately 07:30 hrs. departure from your hotel to start the full day excursion that will take us first to the imposing Milodon Cave Natural Monument, and later to the Torres del Paine National Park, where the welcome is a beautiful panoramic view of the Paine Mountain Range. We will also be able to admire lakes such as Sarmiento, Nordenskjold and Pehoe. Its rich fauna will be present through guanacos and foxes, among others, in addition to a large number of birds easily observed during the tour. A short hike will take us to Salto Grande, a plentiful waterfall, part of the park's hydrographic network. Then, returning to the main road, we will access the administrative headquarters of CONAF, to continue to Grey Lake, where after a short walk (30 minutes) in the middle of an ancient forest we will reach the beach where we can admire a large number of icebergs that fall from the glacier. A box lunch is included in the service. At 19:00 hrs. approximately we will arrive to Puerto Natales.

Lodging.

Day 14: Puerto Natales - Perito Moreno Glacier - Calafate (exhausting day)

Breakfast. At 06:30 hrs approximately connection with regular bus leaving from Puerto Natales. The journey of this day will be very extensive, approximately 360 km or 5 hours, just to access the Argentine National Park Los Glaciares. Not always crossing Chile into Argentinean territory means crossing the Andes. In the case of our excursion, in Patagonia, the Andes Mountain Range is part of the Patagonian archipelago. Therefore, after crossing the border the dominant landscape will be the immense and windy Patagonian steppe.

During the trip it will be possible to see in the distance Lake Argentino and the Santa Cruz River on its way to the Atlantic Ocean. After arrival in Calafate you will have a short period of time to continue for 80 kms to the park and start the excursion to the Perito Moreno glacier, the only glacier in continuous advance. You access the area of footbridges from where, through a series of stairs that connect different viewpoints you can observe the ice giant. After 2 hours in the place we start our return, contemplating 1 hour to visit the city of Calafate. Approximate arrival to Puerto Natales at 22:30. Lodging.

Day 15: Navigation to the Balmaceda and Serrano Glaciers - Puerto Natales (May 21 boat)

Breakfast. At approximately 07:30 am transfer from your hotel to the fiscal dock.  At 08:00 a.m. we will set sail and start the maritime excursion to the Balmaceda and Serrano Glaciers. This navigation lasts about 4 hours to Bernardo O'higgins Park. During the trip we will be able to observe the first estancias in the area, as well as a colony of sea lions, cormorants and waterfalls in the middle of lush forests and cliffs, the latter, home of the majestic condor. Once in the park, we will arrive at Mount Balmaceda, which, on its eastern shore, allows us to observe from the boat the Glacier of the same name, which is in continuous retreat. Later we will arrive at the Puerto Toro pier, from where we will begin a short hike through the native forest and along the shore of the lake until we reach the foot of the Serrano Glacier. A box lunch is included. Approximately at 5:00 p.m. we will return to the city of Puerto Natales to take a regular bus that will take us to the city of Punta Arenas. Transfer to your hotel. Lodging. 

Day 16: Punta Arenas - Punta Arenas Airport - Puerto Montt Airport - Puerto Varas

Breakfast. At a time to be confirmed transfer to Punta Arenas Airport to take flight to Puerto Montt. Reception at El Tepual airport in Puerto Montt and transfer to the hotel in Puerto Varas.

Day 17: Puerto Varas - Chiloé - Castro - Dalcahue

Departure at 09:00 am. Full day excursion. Due to the climatic conditions of the area in the winter period, this excursion is done in different ways depending on the time of the year. Excursion will be confirmed at the time of booking.

We invite you to visit the area of Chiloé, Castro and Dalcahue.
We will visit the northern part of Chiloé Island. After sailing the Chacao Channel for 30 minutes, observing a great variety of birds, we will arrive at the town of Chacao to visit the town square and church. We will take direction to Dalcahue, where we will stop at the waterfront sector for a walk and visit the Artisan Market, Museum and Church and time for lunch. By coastal route we will continue our trip to Castro. We will continue to visit the palafitos of the Gamboa River, the square and its church. Later we will visit the last church of our tour in a town called Nercon.

Then we return to the hotel in Puerto Varas, where we will spend the night.

Day 18: Puerto Varas - Petrohué - Osorno Volcano.

Breakfast at the hotel. Full day tour departing at 10:00 am from the hotel.

A lake of glacial origin and an active volcano are places not to be missed. We will visit the Fundo Playa Venado where we will learn about the countryside and livestock activity. Once in the Vicente Perez Rosales National Park we will visit the famous Petrohué Falls, which delight tourists with their turquoise color. Then we will arrive to the origin of this river, the Todos Los Santos Lake and visit its beaches of volcanic origin and the Museo de los Colonos (not included). Then heading to the foot of the Osorno Volcano, we will stop in the village of Ensenada, in order to continue to the Ski Center, located in the place, where we will have time to have lunch and enjoy the surroundings.

Return to the hotel in Puerto Varas, accommodation.

Day 19: Puerto Varas - Puerto Montt - Puerto Montt Airport

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport.
