Nevado Tres Cruces National Park has 2 areas: one in Copiapo and the other one in Tierra Amarilla, both protected by CONAF.

The highland flora and fauna are its attractions, as is the interesting topography and the hidrographic resources that include Nagro Francisco Lagoon, Santa Rosa lagoon and rivers.

The park also features important mountains like Copiapo Volcano, with 6052 meters above sea level, in which you can find a sanctuary created by the Andes culture.

How to get there?

Santiago, Arica, Iquique, Antofagasta, Calama-Copiapo: Airway.

Anywhere-Copiapo: Land route, by Route 5 North. Public and private transportation.

Argentina-Copiapo: Land route, by Internacional Route CH-31, Paso San Francisco (280 kilometers to La Rioja)

When to go?

All year long.


Desertic weather. The temperature oscillates between day and night time. The summer rain is more frequent with a high media of 14,8 milimeters. The high media temperature is 18,4ºC and the lowest is 4,9ºC.

Entrance is $2000 Chilean pesos for national adults, and $4000 Chilean pesos for foreing. $500 Chilean pesos for national kids, and $1500 for foreing kids.
