The difficult access and the delicate weather conditions do not reduce the natural advantages of Palena Lake, also known as General Winter Lake in Argentina.

Tha landscape is shared by both countries, but its high summits, ice fields and its fruitful vegetation are favorable to the Chilean territory.


Colorful landscape, Winter or Palena lake is the only binational resource share with Argentina.

Rainy moderate. Rains all year.

Yelcho lake, Espolon lake, Hornopiren Nacional Park, Pumalin park, Futaleufu Nacional Reserve, Encuentro river, Futaleufu river, Puelo river, El Amarillo springs, Llancahue springs.


Ask CONAF for permission in Chaiten or Palena municipality.
