Putre Church is visited by thousands of people every year, due to the singular architecture and simple construction of its walls, made with adobe (mud and straw) and rocks.

The current building is not the original though. That construction was destroyed by an earthquake, and this new church was built in 1670.

First region. Located 45 kilometers east of Parinacota, 145 kilometers northeast of Arica and 447 kilometers north of Iquique.

Iquique-Peru: Land route, by Panamericana Highway from Iquique and Tacna.

Bolivia-Arica: Land route, by Route CH-11 Tambo Quemado, that goes through Parinacota from La Paz, Bolivia.

Anywhere-Arica: Airway and Seaway (Carlos Ibañez del Campo Port)

Arica-Putre: Land route, by International Route CH-11 Arica- Tambo Quemado (Bolivia).

All year long.

Climate

Desert weather. The temperature oscillates between day and night time, and the summer rain is more frequent with a high media of 0,2 milimeters. The high media temperature is 27,4ºC and the lowest is 13,2ºC.
