Built to keep a reserve of water for the vineyards in the area, Sausalito Lagoon is today a tourist club with beaches, sailing and sport activities.

It was “La Hacienda” dam of the Vergara Family. Today, it´s an important tourism center, that also features a representation of the “Mississippi” Ship.

Santiago-Viña del Mar; Land route, by Route 68 or Las Palmas way.

Valparaiso-Viña del Mar: Land route, by Viña-Valparaiso freeway or España Ave.

Viña del Mar-Sausalito Lagoon: Land route.

When to go?

All year long.


Mediterraneo weather. There is cloudiness in the shore all year long and the temperature is homogeneous. The annual media precipitations is 450 milimeters during winter time. In the interior, the rain reaches the 250 milimiters per year.
