We invite you to the Chuquicamata coppermine, the world's largest open pit mine with 4.5 km length, 3.5 km wide and 1 km deep.

Itinerary

At 12:40 we start from Calama the excursion to the Chuquicamata Coppermine.

At 13:10 arrive to the ex-camp and have to wait for a vehicle from the mine to pick us up. A guide from the same mine make the tour. Starting at the center of the former camp, take the main road to the viewing. Panoramic view of the open pit mine, the world's largest, with more than 4 Km long, 3.5 wide and almost 1 km deep. In this sector you can appreciate the stunning mine and trucks made their rounds with copper extracted. Return to Calama.

Important: Under the rules of prevention established by the Security Division of the sector, the visit to the mine must be made with an appropriate dress, blouse or long sleeve shirt, long pants and shoes must be closed (no heels or sandals), to people who not comply the norms will not be allowed entry.
The entrance fee is voluntary, in the form of donation.
