Itinerary
Departure: Tuesday on regular services and under request in private services.
Codpa Valley Lodge invites you to discover Arica’s region with a different sight. Thanks to our welcoming infrastructure and many different programs offered you can discover the entire region with the deepness and variety that nobody else actually offer.
Codpa Valley Lodge gathers the Ocean and the High plateaus, Confort and Emotion, Culture and Adventure and offers and integral view of this beautiful Chilean area.
With a unique geographic position, in the middle of the area’ main touristic attractions, Codpa Valley Lodge benefits from an exceptionnal microclimate, over the coast fogs (camanchaca) but under the high plateaus’ low temperatures. At 1.950 m.a.s.l. its altitude is pleasant and affordable for everyone.
Our capacity is 30 persons in 16 Cabins, Restaurant open all year round and swimming pool.
With no doubts, Codpa Valley Lodge is the best alternative to discover Chile’s northern beauties, from Chinchorro culture to high altitude Inca sanctuaries, thanks to first class itineraies using a big variety of roads you will not repeat.
Highlights of the Altiplano
Day 01: Arica - Codpa Valley Lodge
Meeting at Arica airport (or hotel). We visit Azapa valley and its archaeological museum. Lunch. We drive south towards Codpa valley. Arrival to Codpa, a nice oasis village located in a deep canyon. We visit the church. Dinner and overnight in Codpa Valley lodge. (L,D)
Day 02: Codpa - Putrte
We visit Ofragia’s petroglyphs. Then we take the road to the prealltiplanic villages. We visit, Timar, Tignamar and Saxamar. Short trekking to Chitune baths. Box lunch. We follow the drive to Belen, Chaquipiña and Zapahuira. Short excursion to Putre, an important village at the base of Tarapacá volcano, relax in the hot springs of Jurasi, Hotel.(B,L,D)
Day 03: Putre - Lake Chungara - Salar de Surire (Surire salt flat) - Codpa
Full day excursion on the high plateaus. We get on the “altiplano” and visit Lauca National Park and lake. Then, we cross several villages before getting astonished by the white beauty of Salar de Surire. Lunch and thermal bath at Pollequere hot springs. We circle the salt lake and drive down to Codpa Valley lodge for a good rest.(B,L,D)
Day 04: Codpa Valley Lodge – Caleta Vitor - Arica
We let Codpa valley to drive to Arica. Visit and lunch at Caleta Vitor, a nice oasis at the sea shore. Transfer to Arica airport or hotel. End of services.(B,L)
