Itinerary

Day 1: San Pedro de Atacama - White, Green and Red Lagoons - San Pedro de Quemez

08:00 Departure crossing Paso del Cajón 60 kms from San Pedro de Atacama. Meeting at Hito Cajón at time scheduled to start trip to the lagoons. First, we will see the impressive Licancabur volcanoe. At its foot we find White and Green lagoons. Stop to observe flamingoes at White lagoon, and the changing color of green lagoon.

Continuation passing by Dali´s desert and rocks; hot springs of Polques to enjoy its warm waters.

Continuation by Sol de mañana, volcanic area covered by geothermic gases and burning lava. After some time, we get to the unique Red Lagoon, at 4.100 m.o.s.l. This lagoon has a huge amount of red microorganisms, which colored the water red and its is also the biggest reservation of flamingoes in Bolivia, at least 30.000 flamingoes of three different types. Then, we pass by the Siloli desert where the stone tree can be seen. After lunch, we pass by minor lagoons like Honda, Chiarkota, Hedionda y Cañapa. Heading to Hotel de Piedra de San Pedro de Quemes, along pasito Tun Tun, where we drive at 1 km per hour to make out the Ollague volcanoe viewpoint, salar Chiguana, to finally arrive to San Pedro de Quemes. Dinner and accommodation at Hotel de Piedra.

Day 2: San Pedro de Quemez - Uyuni Salt - Colchani

After breakfast, departure from hotel to visit the old village of San Pedro de Quemez located next to Hotel de Piedra. Passing by Bahia de Mala-Mala, visiting the "Cueva de las Galaxias" (Cave of the galaxies) and "Cueva del Diablo" (Devil's Cave) Continuation to Aguaquiza to see the biggest salt flat in the world. On the route, visit to Chantani museum, Coquesa mummies and then entrance to the impressive Uyuni Salt flat, the highest and largest in the world, covering more than 10.000 Km2 and offering spectacular landscapes in their natural state since their formation. It´s a unique place, worth seeing. Transfer to Inkahuasi island. Walk up to the top to admire the salt flat. On the way up, we will see old cacti (grow 1 cm per year) and petrified coral. From the top you can also see Fish island, called after that name because of its shape.

After lunch, departure to Colchani and transfer to hotel. There, we will be able to admire the sunset. Dinner and acommodation at hotel de Sal Luna Salada o Cristal Samaña.

Day 3: Colchani - Uyuni Salt - Colchani - Ojos de Perdiz

After breakfast, departure to Uyuni passing by Colchani where you can see the process of iodized salt, salt and Uyuni museums. Continuation to the train cemetery, San Cristobal to visit the colonial church, Villa Alota, Valle de rocas and Ojos de perdiz. Dinner and accommodation at Hotel del desierto (hotel de Piedra).

Day 4: San Pedro de Quemez - Hito Cajon - San Pedro de Atacama

Departure after breakfast along the same Siloli desert to admire the morning sun, Red lagoon, hot springs, White lagoon. Arrival at the chilean border at hito cajón at scheduled time.
