Itinerary
Day 01: Punta Arenas Airport – Punta Arenas
Arrival in Punta Arenas, Chile, before 02:00 pm where you will be welcome by our staff and then you will be transferred to your hotel. During the afternoon, you have to attend a mandatory meeting where you will receive important information of your trip and general behavior in Antarctica. Later, in our welcome dinner, you will meet your expedition companions, while you enjoy a Magellan-type menu.
Day 02: Punta Arenas – Rey Jorge Island
Scheduled flight to Antarctica. Your adventure starts with a two-hour flight from Punta Arenas to the Rey Jorge Island (Southern Shetlands Island). There you will be able to feel the pure Antarctic air by the first time. Explore some interesting locations such as Frei Chilean Base and Bellingshausen Russian Base, before we board the zodiac boats that will lead us to the expedition ship.
Days 03 to 06: Shetland Islands – Antarctica
Exploring the Antarctica. Sail among the Southern Shetlands Islands and the western side of the Antarctica Peninsula, crossing fjords and breathtaking icebergs with sea birds, penguins, seals and whales. Every day, you will disembark by our zodiac boats with the specialized guides, exploring the landscape. Returning to our ship, you will attend a complete program of lectures and meetings. From the lounge with glass walls you will see the owe-inspiring views while sharing the daily experiences with other adventurers. Every journey is different due to flexibility is the key of success in Antarctica. Our expedition staff makes every route to get the most of the nature, creating an extraordinary and unique experience. The itinerary changes in every expedition in order to discover several places full of Antarctic fauna. This trip may include visits to Paulet Island, Esperanza Bay, Puerto Lockroy, Petermann Island, Paraíso Bay, Decepción Island, Lemaire Channel among other magnificent places.
Day 07: Antarctica – Rey Jorge Island – Punta Arenas
Scheduled flight to return from Antarctica. Return to the Rey Jorge Island where you will say goodbye to Antarctica before boarding the flight back to Punta Arenas. After the arrival, transfer to your hotel (Meals in Punta Arenas not included)
Day 08: Punta Arenas – Punta Arenas Airport
After breakfast, transfer to the Punta Arenas Airport for your flight.
