Itinerary
Departing from your hotel in Easter Island, discover magic places. We will visit Vai a Heva, a big craved head that was probably used to collect rainwater and was used in rituals alluding to the vital resource. Then, we will get to know the Moai head. In this place we find a head of a moai from Rano Raraku quarry and a platform elaborated with a white stone called trachyte obtained from "Maunga Tea tea" quarry, the secondary cone of Poike. After that, we will visit Ana o Keke, which is located on the cliff of Poike this cave is an emblematic place of Rapa Nui. Well-known as the "virgin´s cave" we can appreciate some petroglyphs that refers to the confinment ceremony of the "Uka Neru" women. We will continue our tour to Uka Neru Petroglyphs area where some people said the natives gathered to watch the star. Then, it is time to meet Kava Kava Kio'e, the most eroded area of the island with an unbelievable desert landcape with a red color soil. This is where the reforestation activity takes place. Our trekking ends up at Motu Maratiri islet viewpoint, were we can apreciate an oustandig landscape of the islets and the ahu Tongariki far behind before our return to Hanga Roa. Motu Maratiri islet was declared a marine wildlife bird reserve. Return to the hotel.
