Itinerary
Codpa is an oasis nestled in the driest desert in the world. A trickle of water coming from the Andes, next to a warm climate, make this ravine a fertile oasis that allowed the Spanish conquistadors to plant vines for the Pintatani wine making, desired by the nobles in Potosí.
We depart from Arica and we head to Codpa. We will visit the Church of San Martín de Tours dating back 1668, we will tour the valley, visiting villages such as Guañacagua and the Ofrajía petroglyphs, where the ancient inhabitants engraving the stone with hundreds of petroglyphs representing daily and mystical scenes.
Box lunch in Codpa. By the afternoon, return to Arica.
