Tour: The Best of Pucón, Villarrica and surroundings

Day 1: City Tour

Transfer from Airport in Temuco to Hotel in Pucón or from Pucón bus station (We recommend arrive to Temuco early morning to make the City Tour from 11:00 hrs.) At 11:00 hrs. Pucón tour begins visiting the Quelhue gliding bridge, El Turbio volcanic corridor, Ojos del Caburga, Caburga Lake and Huepil waterfall. Return to Pucon. Lodging.

Day 2: Volcanic Caves and Waterfalls or Trekking to Pichillancahue Glacier

Option A:

At 10:00 hrs. half day excursion to Visit the Volcanic Caves, traveling in the lava tubes from 350 meters inside the Villarrica volcano. A guide will explain the cronology of the eruptions of one of the most active volcanos of the world.

At 16:00 hrs. half day tour to Palguin waterfalls. We will visit El Turbio volcanic corridor, an east viewpoint of Villarrica volcano, to continue to Palguin Alto zone and El Palguin, La China, El Leon waterfalls. Rest at the Menetue Hot springs. Return to Pucon. Lodging


Option B:

At 07:00 hrs. full day excursion Trekking at Pichillancahue glacier. We will visit the Palguin, La China and El Leon waterfalls. At the first part of the path to the glacier, we will see a forest with araucarias, lenga, ñirres and other native trees; and also a lava river, product of an old volcanic eruption. Then we will get to the glacier, where we can walk watching its cracks and cuts, that shows a light blue color with the rays of the sun. Rest at Menetue Hot springs. Return to Pucón, lodging.

Important: Option B is only realizable in the months of January and February.

Day 3: Mapuche Cultural Tour and Horseback Riding

At 10:00 hrs. half day tour: Mapuche cultural tour visiting the Kilaleufu indian housing and tasting samples of the traditional mapuche food. Inside the house, a mapuche woman will tell the visitors typical stories about the craftmanship, customs, looms and their special way of life. Return to Pucon.

By afternoon half day horseback riding at Los Nevados and Sierra Madre barbecue. The guide will teach us to adapt to the horse and then we will take a path through a native forest with oaks and other trees. The journey continues into a volcanic sand ground, where we will see Villarrica and Llaima volcanos. Returning by the same path. At Sierra Madre barbecue, dinner with choripanes, bread, beer, wine and other drinks. Return to Pucon. Lodging.

Day 4: Trekking Huerquehue National Park

At 10:00 hrs. full day excursion Trekking at Huerquehue National Park, to visit the 12.500 hectares of the one of the most beautiful parks in Chile. Walking 850 meters to Ñirrico path, at the shores of Tinquilco lagoon, to go out for seven kilometers and travel around the Chica, Toro and Green lagoons. In the return, relaxing time on Termas del Huife medicinal waters. Return to Pucon.

Day 5:

Transfer out Pucón – Temuco airport or Pucón Bus Station.
