Cajón del Maipo: If you are looking to connect with nature but not miss a New Year's Eve party, Cajón del Maipo is the place for you. Here you can find all kinds of accommodations to spend the night and also celebrations in different restaurants where you can welcome 2018 with food, music and dancing.
If you are looking for something quieter but celebrate anyway with family and friends, you can have a barbecue in the authorized places by the river, which usually also combine a camping area to eat outdoors and enjoy your New Year's dinner in a different place. Now if you prefer to relax completely and live your New Year's Eve under the stars, we recommend you continue climbing and reach Baños Colina, where you can enjoy the therapeutic properties of its thermal waters, its night of thousands of stars and the silence of the mountain to start the new year.
2.- Elqui Valley: Those looking to connect with the energies of the New Year will find in the Elqui Valley, in the IV region, the perfect place. The area has its own mystique and beautiful landscapes where you can relax and celebrate at the same time.
By the river you can prepare a barbecue and at midnight enjoy the music and fireworks that are launched in the area. In addition, due to its proximity to La Serena and Coquimbo, the next day you can relax on a day at the beach.
San Pedro de Atacama: San Pedro has several advantages to spend the holidays. It is high season, so you can meet visitors from all over the world if you want to enjoy some of the New Year's parties that take place in restaurants and accommodations.
But you can also opt for something less traditional, such as the celebration of "Astronomical New Year", where a group is organized, some telescopes and receive the midnight under the stars of the best place in Chile to observe the skies.
