Chile wins its second World Tourism Oscar

Our country for the second consecutive year surpassed other famous destinations such as Australia, Thailand, Canada, Ecuador and Sri Lanka, to name a few.

This is why more than 50% of tourists who visited Chile in 2017 said that one of the greatest attractions of Chile is its unexplored nature in certain places, where you can enjoy a complete disconnection and tranquility. This award is added to the one obtained by Santiago, as a must-see destination for 2018 by National Geographic magazine and by the international media Lonely Planet.

According to this interest of visitors for nature in our country, parks, monuments and nature reserves have improved their infrastructure conditions and it is expected that by 2025 tourists will exceed 4.8 million. This also contributes to an improvement in the economy of areas outside the capital, which encourages the development of self-sustaining tourism and work in rural communities.

These recognitions show that the attractions of our country surpass San Pedro de Atacama, Torres del Paine and Easter Island, and that Chile offers multiple destinations and panoramas for all tastes that are beginning to be recognized. From the warm wind of the driest desert in the world in the north, to the unexplored landscapes offered by Patagonia in the south. From the fertile valleys on the other side of the Andes Mountains, to the shores of the Pacific Ocean in the west, our country continues to amaze and enchant those seeking adventure, relaxation, hospitality and rest. In addition, the excellent connectivity of the Santiago airport allows travel in a few hours to other nearby destinations, such as Buenos Aires and San Carlos de Bariloche in Argentina, Lima and Cusco in Peru and the Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia, to name a few.

Thank you for ending a year full of triumphs for Chile, see you in 2018!
