Harvest in Chile

Chile, increasingly famous for its wine tourism , of course does not lag behind and welcomes these dates with celebrations in the most important valleys such as the Casablanca Valley, Colchagua Valley and Maule Valley, as well as Isla de Maipo, Curicó, Buin, Molina and other locations. Most of the grape harvests take place after the beginning of autumn, starting on March 23 and extending until the first week of April.

During the grape harvest festival, the traditional events are the "treading of the grapes" in large barrels and also the election of the Grape Harvest Queen. But in addition to these activities you can enjoy exquisite preparations of the most typical Chilean cuisine such as empanadas and the latest humitas and corn cakes - which are already ending their season.

Another attraction of the harvest festivities are the tastings of different types of wines such as cabernet sauvignon, syrah, chardonnay, various sparkling wines, among others. There will also be wine seminars to learn more about grape varieties.

There will also be samples of handicrafts, some rituals such as the Chilean mass and artistic performances such as singers, folk music, cueca contests and also poets and payadores. We encourage you to travel around Santiago, take a Wine Route and visit the vineyards from the last week of March. At the grape harvest festival, fun, delicious food and good wine are guaranteed.
