Magical places in Chile
For this, we suggest you to visit some of the most magical places in our country during your vacations, to recharge your body and spirit, as well as to enjoy the warmth of the sun and the joy of the summer in the Southern Hemisphere.
Easter Island: The magical destination par excellence. Enjoy the summer in the "Navel of the World" and visit all its wonderful corners. From paradisiacal beaches such as Anakena and Ovahe, to adventures in sacred ceremonial sites such as the Ahu where the moais are located, in Easter Island you will find alive the mysticism of a mysterious culture, full of sensuality and exoticism. One of the most attractive places in Easter Island is the so-called "Stone of Wishes", located near the Ahu Te Pito Kura, which means "Navel of Light".
This unique stone is round and polished, surrounded by four other smaller stones and a stone wall. It has magnetic properties that can be tested by passing a compass over its surface, where the instrument will lose its north. Its "magic" is explained by the high iron content inside, which even allows you to feel warmth in your hands. Many say that this is where energy is renewed and even favors female fertility. In addition to these particular properties, in this ahu is the largest sculpture of the island, the moai Paró, with 10 meters high. To get there, you must travel approximately 20 kilometers northeast of Hanga Roa, the main town and port of Easter Island.
Tatio Geysers: At more than 4300 meters above sea level, in the Antofagasta Region, is the geyser field El Tatio, which in kunza means "The grandfather who cries". It is the largest geyser field in the southern hemisphere and the third largest in the world.
In addition, in the lake of the same name, you can enjoy the spectacle of large ice floes floating in its waters that can be seen more closely by sea kayaking or canoeing. A whole world of ice in one of the southernmost corners of the world.
Moon Valley: 13 kilometers away from San Pedro de Atacama, II region of Antofagasta, we can find a landscape that seems to be from another planet. It is the Valley of the Moon, located more than 2500 meters above sea level, with impressive rocky shapes molded through the centuries by the erosion of the wind in the desert.
The Moon Valley is a Nature Sanctuary and can be accessed from San Pedro de Atacama through route CH-23. In this landscape of absolute silence we can be surprised with whimsical sculptures formed by the wind, with ridges, peaks and hollows. There is no flora or fauna, only the arid colors of the desert that give it the appearance of lunar territory. The Valley of the Moon offers diverse activities such as bike rides and sandboarding among its dunes, mountains and depressions such as the Amphitheater and the Tres Marias. It is located inside the Los Flamencos National Reserve.
Puyuhuapi: Located in the Aysén region is this beautiful town, famous for its waters with medicinal powers. It has an exclusive hot springs center where you can enjoy pleasant hot waters that come from subway sources and reach 80ºC of temperature. In Puyuhuapi you can also enjoy the incredible view of the hanging snowdrift Queulat, located more than 7000 meters above sea level, surrounded by evergreen nature and the possibility of all kinds of outdoor activities. To get there you must take the Carretera Austral from Puerto Montt to Puyuhuapi and cross the Seno de Reloncavi amidst a landscape of breathtaking beauty.
Las Vicuñas National Reserve: Located in the commune of Putre, XV Region of Arica and Parinacota, Las Vicuñas National Reserve is located at an altitude of 4300 meters above sea level, in the middle of the Andean altiplano. It is a place where you can appreciate the flora and fauna of the area, especially vicuñas and rheas. Besides this, it is a place of archaeological heritage, where we will find apachetas or small altars of Aymara origin, as well as other high altitude sanctuaries on higher peaks, such as hills and volcanoes.
