For those who are not experts in mountain sports and want to enjoy an entertaining snow day with family and friends, without spending too much, here are some alternatives:
Lagunillas: It is located in the area of Cajón del Maipo and stands out because its altitude reaches 2200 meters above sea level. It has ski slopes and ski lifts for those who wish to ski, but it also offers a wonderful mountain landscape and several alternatives to enjoy a day in the snow.
To get there you must take route G-25 from Santiago to San José de Maipo. From there you travel 17 kilometers of a mountain road where the use of chains is mandatory.
Farellones: This snow park not only stands out for its economic prices, but also for being one of the first centers where you can ski even before the ski centers we know today. It has slopes enabled for white sports, a snowpark and a fun tubing area, where you can slide down the slopes of the mountain on a kind of plastic sleds.
From Santiago, you can get there through the commune of Lo Barnechea, taking the road to Farellones, on a road of approximately 74 kilometers.
Chapa Verde: This ski center is located 56 kilometers from Rancagua, in the VI Region. It has ski lifts and slopes, as well as beautiful landscapes to relax in a full day in the mountains.
Pehuenche International Pass: In the VII region, when the cold starts and the snow falls, one of the best panoramas is to visit this international route, which stands out for its beauty and entertaining surroundings. It does not have a ski center or slopes, but it allows you to experience a full day in the mountains. It has some services such as chemical toilets and tourism stand.
Puyehue National Park: In the X region, this area is characterized not only by its hot springs and natural forests. Here you can also enjoy snowy landscapes when winter arrives. Its advantage is the presence of cabins and pools, which allows you to stay a couple of days to enjoy this beautiful spectacle.
