Cajon del Maipo is one of the most popular attractions in the capital city. Located only an hour away from Santiago, it offers beautiful landscapes; some of them are El Morado Natural Monument, Cascada de las Animas Nature Sanctuary and Clarillo River National Reserve.

It is an ideal place to practice adventure sports, considering it features springs, paths and vineyards.

There are also protected areas and the Lagunillas Skiing Center, in which you can practice snowboard and randonne, among others.

How to get there?

To Pirque: Land route, by Vicuña Mackenna Ave. South from Santiago.

To Cajon del Maipo: Land route, by La Florida Ave. Then take Route G-25 to San Gabriel. Another option is take Vicuña Mackenna Ave. or La Florida Ave. to Puente Alto. Then take route to Las Vizcachas and turn to take Route G-25.

When to go?

All year long.

Mediterranean weather. There is a dry season and rain during winter time. The annual media temperature is 14ºC, and the annual media precipitations are 356.2 milimeters.
