The reserve is located in the precordillera, between the 850 and 3500 meters above sea level, and it has 13185 hectares of extension. Administered by CONAF, the reserve has an incredible vegetation with peumos, quillayes and litres forests, and it is a refuge for other animals like the torcasa and Chilean iguana. It has an Ambiental Information Center, excursion paths –Jorquera and Aliven Mahuida Streams- and picnic zones. Clarillo River is the main fluvial resource in the area.
