CHILLáN AND LAS TRANCAS VALLEY
Know Chillán and Las Trancas Valley
Of great natural value and located in the Andes, Las Trancas Valley is the refugee of a marvelous native vegetation that includes oak, lenga and coigüe forest, fertile cultives, rocky mountains, waterfalls and cliffs. The Chillan Volcano is the major mountain in the area; while Las Trancas Valley has a fantastic tourist equipment to enjoy the region´s nature. The Chillan Spring is another place to visit in the zone. Located 1800 meters above sea level, it features medicinal water and a spa. This area is ideal for adventure tourism. Also, this destination holds an important historical patrimony, like Los Pincheira cave and Chillan where both Bernardo O´Higgins and Arturo Prat were born.

How to get there: Land route, by Route 152 from Concepción. Then take Route 5 South to Chillan. Take Route N-55 to Pinto and Recinto.
Another option is take Route 148 from Concepcion.
When to go: All year long.
Weather: Moderate weather. In the shore and in altitude there is a humid moderate weather with rain between the 1200 and 2000 milimeters per year, meanwhile, in the interior the rain reaches the 1300 milimeters per year.
