Know MontegrandeMonte Grande is a town located 110 meters above sea level, in Valle del Elqui. It´s a small town with one narrow street placed between the river and the hill; it was declared Typical Zone in 1990. It is most important and known because it's the birthplace of Nobel winning poet Gabriela Mistral. In Monte Grande you can find the Main Square, the School and house of Gabriela Mistral, her grave and multiple tourist services.

Weather: Semiarid. Arid in the north and mild in the south. The shore temperatures are homogeneuos, and in the interior the temperature oscillates between day and night time. Rain in winter season.
