Know Puerto Viejo Beach
Before Caldera existed, Puerto Viejo was the main port in Copiapo, until 1850 when the Caldera-Copiapo train was built. Today, Puerto Viejo is a beach with singular topography. It doesn´t have tourist services, and only in summertime you will find some visitors.Destination's information:

Activities: Trekking, swimming, sport fishing, flora and fauna contemplation, photography.

How to get there: To Puerto Viejo: Land route, by Route 5 North.
When to go: All year.
Weather: Desert weather, with homogeneous temperatures in the shore. The high media temperature is 18,4ºC and the lowest is 4,9ºC. The rain is amost non existent due to shore couldiness, with a high media of 14,8 milimeters.
