The Altiplanic Route

Day 01: Arica Airport – Codpa Valley Lodge
Reception at the Arica Airport (or from the Hotel). Visit to the Azapa Valley and its Archaeological Museum. Lunch by the sea. Departure heading south to the Codpa Valley. Arriving in Codpa, beautiful oasis town hidden in a deep ravine. Visit to the church and the farm. Accommodation and dinner in Codpa Valley Lodge.

Day 02: Codpa – Putre
Visit to the Ofragía Petroglyphs. After that, we will take the road to the prealtiplanic villages. We will visit Timar, Tignamar and Saxamar. Short trekking to the Escondida Gorge. Picnic. The trip continues by the villages of Belén and Chaquipiña before we arrive in Zapahuira. Short excursion to the Putre town viewpoint with the Tarapacá Volcano in the background. Relax in the Jurasi Thermal Pools. We will head to Putre. Hotel.

Day 03: Putre – Chungará Lake – Surire Salt Flat – Colchane
Early in the morning, we will visit the Lauca National Park, the town of Parinacota and the famous Chungará Lake. After that, we will head south to the Surire Salt Flat. Lunch and you will enjoy a bath in the Thermal Pools. Then we will cross the Isluga National Park. At the end of the day we will arrive in the border town of Colchane (3800 m) where we will accommodate in a hostel.

Day 04: Colchane – Lirima – Huasco Salt Flat – Pica
We will take the mountain road that we will lead us to pass through an over-5000-meter-high passage, between Churuyo and Alto Chaviri. After that, we will visit the town of Lirima and we will lunch in the Aguas Calientes Thermal Pools. In the afternoon, we will continue to the Huayco Salt Flat before arriving in the Pica Oasis where we will accommodate. Enjoy a bath in the natural pool of the oasis. Hotel.

Day 05: Pica – Calama – San Pedro de Atacama
Visit to La Tirana, the ghost-city of Humberstone and the Cerro Pintado Geoglyphs. After that, we will take the rout to Calama where we will make a brief stop. Lunch on route. Transfer to San Pedro de Atacama. Visit to the Moon Valley during the sunset. Accommodation in a Eco House in the San Pedro oasis, spending time with our hosts. 

Day 06: San Pedro de Atacama
Full day excursion to the Atacama Salt Flat, Cejar Lagoon and the Altiplanic Lagoons. Return to San Pedro and dinner and astronomic tour by night.

Day 07: San Pedro de Atacama
Trekking to the Salt Mountain Range and excursion to Arcoíris Valley and its multicolored hills. Return to San Pedro. Farwell barbecue under the stars in the oasis.

Day 08: San Pedro de Atacama – Tatio Geysers – Calama Airport
Departure from San Pedro de Atacama early in the morning heading to the Tatio Geysers. After the visit, we will go to Calama. Transfer to the airport. End of services.
